Mitsubishi A6M3 Model 32 for Enthusiasts

The 1/72 scale Warbirds Collection proudly introduces the A6M3 Zero fighter Model 32, which earned the codename "Hamp" from American forces. This model represents an advancement over its predecessor, the Model 21. Enhancements included a more powerful Sakae 21 engine and a redesigned main wing that was shorter in length. As a result, the Model 32 achieved a top speed increase of 11 km/h and demonstrated improved roll and dive speeds. However, these benefits came at the expense of higher fuel consumption.

The Model 32 featured a smaller fuel tank, which contributed to its operational range being approximately 1,000 km shorter than earlier versions. It first took to the skies on July 15, 1941, and subsequently entered service with the 2nd Fighter Group based in Rabaul, Philippines. In total, only 343 units of the Model 32 were produced, a relatively low figure primarily attributed to its limited range.

The kit includes three sets of markings and showcases newly designed parts for the main wing, fuselage, and engine cowl, making it a standout addition to any collection. The 1/72 scale accurately captures the essence of this iconic aircraft.
